Universal Audio Brings Renowned Plugins to Front-of-House Engineers with UAD-2 Live Rack

Universal Audio has announced the release of the UAD-2 Live Rack, a new unit that brings the power of their renowned plugin suite to a live sound paradigm. Each unit offers 16 channels of MADI-based processing, with the ability to combine up to four racks for a total of 64 channels.

Like their studio-based effects systems, the UAD-2 Live Rack allows you to save and recall settings, with drag and drop, copy and paste, plugin zoom, channel strip presets, and more.

Set to ship in June, the basic UAD-2 Live Rack will be available in two different configurations. The "Core" option—with a price of $2,999 USD—includes UA's essential plugins including Antares Auto-Tune Realtime, Teletronix LA‑2A and 1176 compressors, Pultec EQs, and others. The "Ultimate" bundle offers more than 90 different pro-grade plugins and will sell for $5,999.
