Well, well, well. Here we are, back in Anaheim, for the annual NAMM convention. The largest show of its kind for the musical instruments industry—kicking off Thursday January 25 and continuing through Sunday—it will be the launching pad for manufacturers' new gear and all of the best products in their current lineups.
Reverb will be on the convention floor, covering product launches from Third Man Hardware, Alex Lifeson's Lerxst, Korg, Yamaha, Teenage Engineering, Taylor, Martin, and many, many more. And we'll be roaming the halls to catch some of our favorite artists, producers, and talented musicians of all kinds as they play and shred.

A Banjo Meets a Pedalboard on the NAMM 2024 Floor
Right after NAMM's doors opened, one of the first things that grabbed our attention was a killer pedalboard set up by a wall of banjos. It belonged to John Kavanaugh, inventor of the Kavanjo, and he invited us to let loose. Fess Explores Korg's New Lineup at NAMM 2024
The newly rebuilt and reissued Korg PS-3300 isn't the only major announcement the brand has made so far this year. Over the last few weeks, Korg has announced product after product, and today at NAMM, Fess had a chance to stop by the booth to check out what's been cooking. The Innovative New Mod Series from Gamechanger Audio
Gamechanger Audio continues to agitate for pedals to be stranger and better. Their new Mod Series launches with three distinct effects—Reverb, Delay, and Chorus—that can be used in straightforward ways. But they gets wild from there. Each pedal tracks the dynamics and pitch of your playing, and then allows you to patch those signals into other functions like Level, Rate, or Feedback, to create bold new expressions. Compatible with guitars, synths, and even Eurorack audio signals, the pedals can also be patched together. It's a weird, new playground for experimentation, and Gamechanger's inviting us all to play.

Gamechanger Audio Unveils the New Eurorack Module
Fess had some time to drop by the Gamechanger Audio booth to see what the big minds over there have been cooking up. New for the Eurorack space is this oscillator module called the Plasma Voice—a cutting-edge piece of tech that Gamechanger believer is a brand-new type of oscillator with a ton of functionality baked in. The Omnichord Makes Its Hotly Anticipated Return
Suzuki has been teasing this new upcoming Omnichord for months, having initially planned its release to coincide with the company's 70th anniversary in 2023. That release was further delayed, with Suzuki promising an unveiling at the NAMM show in Anaheim. Lucky for us, the company has kept its promise and the new Omnichord OM-108 is every bit as glorious as we hoped it would be.
Stylophone Unveils New Theremin & CPM DS-2 Drone Synth
For the last 40 years, things at the Stylophone brand have been all about, well, stylophones. But this year, the company is branching into new territory. In the video above, Fess stops by the Stylophone booth for a look at the new (and quite affordable) theremin and drone synth that the company has cooked up for 2024.
Korg Has Recreated the Ultra-Rare & Complex PS-3300
Korg has newly resurrected a legendary, complex, large-format synth from the 1970s: the ultra-rare PS-3300. The "new" PS-3300 is genuinely a faithful recreation of the older model (of which only 50 units or so were ever produced) but with some refined upgrades that modern players will appreciate—MIDI, USB, and preset buttons, to name a few. The Infamously Smashed Hateful Eight Martin Returns
For those not in the know, while filming The Hateful Eight several years ago, a genuine 1870s Martin acoustic guitar on loan from the Martin Guitar Museum was smashed to bits by Kurt Russell. It wasn't supposed to happen that way—the real historical relic was supposed to be switched out for an unimportant prop prior to the smashing. Unfortunately, the switch didn't happen, and the devastating occurrence inspired Martin Guitar Museum to change its policy on loaning instruments to productions. At NAMM 2024, this historic—and now, historically smashed—guitar can be seen on display at the Martin booth.
