The Thomastik-Infeld RP111 is the medium-gauge entry in the Power-Brights Heavy Bottom series, built for players who want the firm pick attack of an .011 top string paired with the massive, chunky low end of a .053 sixth. The plain E, B, and G are highly flexible brass-coated steel; the D, A, and low E are Magnecore alloy roundwound over a flexible hexagonal steel core. Lighter tops combined with heavier bottoms force the instrument to sustain longer, delivering the ringing, aggressive tone that defines the Power-Brights line.
Voiced with rock, hard rock, and downtuned playing in mind, the RP111 loves distortion. The high output and boosted high frequencies push overdriven amps, delays, and modulation effects to their limits, while the .032/.045/.053 bottom retains focus and definition under drop D, C standard, and lower tunings that would leave lighter sets flabby.
