The D'Addario EXL157 strings are a medium-gauge set specifically engineered for traditional long-scale electric baritone guitars, particularly those tuned to B standard. 

Core Design and Tone:
These strings utilize D'Addario's signature XL Nickel Wound construction, featuring precision-wound nickel-plated steel over a carefully drawn, hexagonally shaped high-carbon steel core.  This design delivers a distinctive bright tone with excellent intonation and long-lasting durability.  The hex-core ensures a tight wrap, providing rock-solid fundamentals and consistent feel across the set.

The EXL157 set features a 14–68 medium gauge, optimized for the tension requirements of baritone instruments.  The specific string gauges are:
