This is a really nice Yamaha YAS-26 student alto saxophone that's in true near-mint condition. I had a professional tech go over the entire horn top to bottom, and it's playing excellently right out of the case — everything feels tight, responsive, and ready for its next owner.

The pads are still in fantastic shape with plenty of life left in them. They seal up perfectly with no leaks at all, giving you a clean, immediate response. The springs are strong and lively, providing that crisp, quick key action from the lowest notes all the way up. Every key moves freely and evenly with no sticking or binding whatsoever. It puts out a warm, centered tone that's easy to control and really pleasant to play. The intonation is solid and consistent across the full range, so whether you're working on long tones, running scales, playing band pieces, or just jamming along with recordings, this sax will make it enjoyable.

Cosmetically, it's in excellent shape — honestly one of the cleanest used student models I've seen. There are only a couple of very light, superficial marks from normal handling, but the lacquer is still shiny and holding up beautifully, the keys look clean and tight, and the whole instrument feels sturdy and well cared for. It has that classic yellow brass body and neck that Yamaha is known for, along with the practical student-friendly upgrades: a front F key, the improved low B-C# mechanism for smoother transitions between notes, and an adjustable thumb rest to help develop good hand position as you progress.

This is the kind of reliable, no-fuss saxophone that grows with a player instead of holding them back. It works great for a beginner who's stepping up to something better, a school band student who needs a dependable daily player, or even an adult looking for a great-sounding alto that won't need frequent trips to the shop. It's a proven, solid instrument that should give you years of enjoyable playing without any headaches.
