The Ludwig P84 is a vintage snare drum strainer, specifically known as the "Small Pioneer" strainer.
It appears in the 1959 catalog, and was designed for snare drums such as piccolos, the 3x13 Jazz Combo model, 4x13 Las Vegas model, 4x14 Downbeat model, and similar specialized snare drums.
It was used Primarily in the 1960s, and the mounting holes are spaced at 7/8" center to center.
