Paiste 2002 Cup Chime 5-Piece Set #1, 2, 4, 6, 7 — WITH the 5-Arm Holder Included
What this actually costs you. New, this set runs $660 at Musician's Friend — and the holder is not included at that price. Sweetwater lists it as a Paiste special order that usually ships in a few weeks, cannot be canceled or returned, and does not qualify for free shipping.
This one is $549 with free shipping, the 5-arm holder included, returnable, and it ships now.
Complete and mountable out of the box. Most Cup Chime sets — new or used — are the five cymbals alone. To actually use them you still need the 5-arm holder, which is what makes the set a single mountable unit instead of five loose chimes looking for stands. This listing includes it. Nothing else to buy.
The set. Chimes #1, 2, 4, 6, and 7 — 5", 5.5", 6.5", 7.5", and 8". Paiste's 2002 line dates to 1971 and is built from CuSn8 bronze, 92% copper and 8% tin. The character is bright and full with a wide, clean frequency range — soft in volume but extremely responsive, with a glassy attack and a long, warm fade behind a very dominant center tone. Paiste notes they're well suited to upside-down mounting over a ride bell. Orchestral in origin, but they've been a staple of prog and rock kits for fifty years.
