Vintage 1970/1971 Ludwig Psychedelic Red Drum Kit. One owner! Always a set!

Drums have evenly faded to the beautiful and yes, even desirable: “Melted Crayon” look.

Six digit serial numbers on all four drums:

8x12: #903xxx

9x13: 904xxx

16x16: 864xxx

14x22: 864xxx

Complete with arched spurs, double tom mount and three floor tom legs. Many original heads on drums, especially the front reso Ludwig bass drum head.

Unoriginal tension rods and washers.

No date stamps, but a partial paper Ludwig label is present in one rack tom.

Original bass drum inlays on both wood bass drum hoops.

One tom has a edge ding in the re-rings but doesn’t affect tuning or sound. Also, one badge has paint loss as pictured.

Much rust and chrome loss. This can be cleaned up though to look better with a bit of “elbow grease”. One inside screw is not correct inside the floor tom. Floor tom legs and holders have much chrome loss. And seam on floor tom is protruding but can be glued back together.
