2022 Gibson Custom Shop Greeeny Kirk Hammett Brazilian Aged - serial 92208 42
Offered for sale is this Holy Grail of Modern Gibson Collections: Kirk Hammett "Greeny" Brazilian board, number #42 out of only 50 made.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most significant releases in the history of the Gibson Custom Shop. As a "Collector’s Edition," it represents the pinnacle of craftsmanship, featuring the historically accurate and highly coveted Brazilian Rosewood fretboard. This specific wood is the "gold standard" for collectors, offering a density and tonal response that simply cannot be replicated by other materials.
Every detail of this guitar has been curated by the master artisans at the Murphy Lab. Through years of study, they have captured the exact wear patterns, finish checking, and battle scars of the original "Greeny"—the legendary 1959 Les Paul that traveled from the hands of Peter Green to Gary Moore before finding its home with Metallica’s Kirk Hammett. The finish is a perfect "Greeny Burst," applied with a period-correct nitrocellulose lacquer that feels like a vintage instrument from the moment it is held.
This guitar was hand-signed by Kirk Hammett on the back of the headstock before Metallica's concert in Milan, May 29th 2024.
Beyond its visual and historical appeal, this guitar is a tonal powerhouse. It is equipped with custom-voiced Greeny Bucker pickups, featuring the world-famous reverse-polarity neck pickup. When played in the middle position, the guitar produces that signature "nasal" out-of-phase sound that defined Peter Green’s blues and Gary Moore’s soaring leads. The solid mahogany body and flame maple top ensure a resonant, sustain-rich experience that only a true '59-spec Les Paul can provide.
This guitar is offered in collector-grade condition and comes complete with its original custom hardshell case, the Certificate of Authenticity, and all factory-included documentation. It is a true "investment-grade" asset for the serious collector or the dedicated professional.
