Selling this very rare Royal Cosmo Wah Machine CW-1.
It’s a cool ring modulator and wah pedal. In ring mod (Cosmo) mode the expression pedal controls the added frequency, shifting it up and down. You can choose to add vibrato to this frequency if you want - this knob clicks from off position and then goes from slow to ‘FARST’ - I love this.
It’s a very warm, slightly fuzzy and musical sounding ring mod and being able to sweep through frequencies can sound great. The blend, tone and volume knobs are pretty self explanatory.
The wah sounds really good. Like many pedals of this era, the pot is wired so that the highest frequency is in the heel position.
There isn’t much about these pedals online beyond Royal being a Japanese pedal company (not part of the Shin-Ei empire) operating in the 70s and 80s. They also traded under the name Thunder Electronic Co. Their fuzz and fuzz/wah pedals have sold on Reverb but this particular pedal appears to have never been sold here.
In very good cosmetic condition for its age and fully functional. There are just a few minor scratches on the chassis.
International buyers, please note that the postage cost is an estimate. Please message with your country for actual postage costs.
