Marshall

Model: 1987 - JMP 50

Year: 1980

Inspection Sticker Date: 26/02/1980

Serial Number: S/A 01679M

The Marshall 1987 model is the 50-watt counterpart to the legendary 1959 Super Lead, and this 1980 example embodies the raw, unfiltered tone that defined rock throughout the ’70s and ’80s. The EL34 power tubes deliver that unmistakable British crunch—open, dynamic, and touch-sensitive—making it one of the most expressive amps in Marshall’s history.

This one has gain for days and with its dual inputs and straightforward control layout, the 1987 is all about pure tone and power. Cranked up, it delivers the snarling overdrive and singing sustain that made it a favorite of countless guitar heroes, while still offering surprising clarity and responsiveness when rolled back.

Key Features:

  • Original 1980 Marshall 1987 50-watt head
  • Classic Plexi-inspired design with EL34 power section
  • Dual input channels for tonal flexibility (bright & normal)
  • Iconic Marshall black tolex and gold panel styling
  • Pure vintage British tone—dynamic, powerful, and unmistakably Marshall
  • Zilla small box housing

This 1980 Marshall 1987 is a true piece of amplifier history. For collectors, it’s a chance to own one of Marshall’s most iconic designs from a golden era. For players, it’s the perfect gateway to that legendary Plexi roar without the full 100-watt blast.
