" These machines are know for their excellent sounding pre amps. Some use them to make guitar amps! The Roberts 770x and its twin brother, the Akai M8 featured the brilliant Cross Field recording system that allowed for high fidelity recording at speeds as low as 1 7/8 ips! This deck operates at speeds of 1 7/8, 3 3/4, and 7 1/2. A kit is available record at 15 ips if you desire. The design of the 770x also allowed for over dubbing capabilities to infinity if the user so desired."
