The ProCo Rat is a legendary distortion pedal, with an illustrious list of users and a long list of different versions over the years. This one is a late-80s era 'flat top', small box LED-equipped version, built by legendary ProCo assembler Doug 'Woodcutter' Fetterolf. Apparently, there were several Dougs at ProCo at the time, and this Doug was part time, as he had another job, literally cutting wood. Despite being part time, he was wildly fast and accurate: he built more Rat pedals than anyone else over that period. This version boasts the LM308 chip and offers a thick, expansive and teethy take on the classic hard clipped sound. Super enjoyable, and increasingly collectable.
