Very awesome and very rare Greco RG550, which is their copy of the also-rare Rickenbacker 480. When I purchased this, the listing said it was made in 1977 in the famed Matsumoko factory in Japan. I bought this as a project guitar, but I simply haven't had the time to work on it, and I need to clear out the space.
The fretboard is separating from the neck around the 1st and 2nd frets. That said, the guitar still plays and feels pretty good. The frets were apparently scalloped at some point; it was done well, it seems, and it feels pretty neat to play scalloped frets.
The output of the guitar is very low, but there is output. There are many scratches and some small cracks on the edges and corners of the pickguard. There is oxidation on the pickups and hardware, but it's not terrible considering the age of the guitar. It still has the original rare star tuners.
It does not have a case.
With a little work, this will be a great guitar. The original build is fantastic, and the style/shape is the coolest of any Rickenbacker, in my opinion. You will have a killer 480 for a fraction of the price.
