New York Bach medium bore Stradivarius trumpet manufactured in 1943. I have owned this trumpet for ~25 years. It is in good condition over all for a horn made in 1943.

When I bought it, it had 3 patches and had been relacquered at some point. The patches are well made; one is located on the bell, another on the leadpipe, and the third is on the knuckle coming out of the third valve (pictured). These are all typical places for wear from hand contact, so I suspect they were added for protection. The nickle plating on the original valves was flaking off (pictured), so I procured valves from a slightly later medium bore NY Bach that had already been re-plated and I had them hand-lapped to fit this trumpet. Both sets of valves will come with the trumpet. The serial number for this trumpet is 6200. I requested the shop card from Conn-Selmer but it has apparently been lost. They sent me shop cards for #6199 and #6201. Both of those trumpets had #37 bells, #7 leadpipes, and were medium bore, so I think it is safe to assume this trumpet has the same model bell and leadpipe. I will send these shop cards along with the trumpet. All slides work well. The valves are very tight and can be a bit sluggish at times, especially if not oiled frequently. They may need to be lapped a bit more. At one point I had a first valve trigger mounted on this trumpet, so there are some solder marks on the first valve casing and first valve slide (pictured). Also, one of the brass rings on the end of the third valve slide fell off. I have a silver (or nickle?) ring there now from a ater trumpet, but it is not soldered in place (pictured). There is a small dent in the third valve slide crook (pictured). Evidence of previous dent work at bell rim (pictured).
