This is an ultra-high-precision official signature model of Brian May’s beloved “Red Special.”

It faithfully reproduces the internal structure of the original Red Special (semi-hollow body), the placement of the Burns Tri-Sonic pickups, and the switching system.

Kz Guitar Works is now renowned as a Japanese component guitar workshop.

The brand was launched in 2001 by its representative, Mr. Ijuin, specifically to craft Brian May’s Red Special. Initially, production was permitted on the condition that the names “Queen” and “Brian May” not be used. However, Mr. Ijuin visited Greg Fryer in Australia—who had restored Brian May’s own guitar—and, after Greg recognized the instrument’s high quality, received Brian May’s official endorsement. This led to permission for Mr. Ijuin and Mr. Fryer to collaborate on the production of the Brian May Super.

The quality of this guitar was recognized by Brian May himself, to the extent that he used it during the 2008 Queen World Tour.

The neck grip and body shape of his original guitar have been preserved, while high-quality parts have been carefully selected and arranged.

As this is a collector’s item, there is minimal wear, but there is a scratch on the pickguard (perhaps from playing with a 6-pence coin?).

The neck is currently straight. The truss rod functions properly, and the frets are nearly intact.
