Immediately identifiable on stages around the world thanks to it's glowing dual VU meters, the Ashdown Engineering ABM-600-DR-EVO IV is a bass head with a variable valve drive preamp and a solid-state amp that delivers 600W (RMS) / 1200W (Peak) of gut-rumbling power. Made for the road, it features a 3 RU rack chassis fabricated from 2mm mild steel with front and rear mounts to ensure the head can easily be racked and protected when travelling. Dual VU meters allow monitoring on the input gain as well as output level.

The ABM-600-DR-EVO IV's tone-shaping features include a 9-band EQ, a one-knob dynamic compressor, and a sub-harmonic generator. Professionals will appreciate the balanced DI out, line in/outs, FX loop, and tuner out connectivity. The amp can be used to power a single 8-ohm cabinet, a pair of 8-ohm cabinets, or a single 4-ohm cabinet. The ABM-600-DR-EVO IV is the rackmount version of the company's beastly ABM 600 EVO IV bass amp head.

• The upgraded Variable Valve Drive preamp section delivers more current to the 12AX7 tube and enables more drive and harmonic content than ever before. Players can dial in sounds ranging from pristine clean to the fattest, fullest bass overdrive. The Drive level can be preset and kicked in and out via an FS-4 footswitch (available separately), providing access to a huge range of clean, warm, and overdriven tones.

Sonic Perfection with 9-Band EQ

• Bassists plugging into the ABM-EVO IV head are greeted straight away by the flickering of the new Input VU meter, allowing them to quickly find the sweet spot for their instrument. From there, the head offers a sophisticated 9-band EQ with familiar Bass, Middle, and Treble controls. Six sliders provide precision cut and boost at 100, 180, and 340 Hz, and at 1.3, 2.6, and 5 kHz. The EQ can be switched in via the FS-4 footswitch, taking the player from a flat fretless sound to their favorite EQ setting instantly.

• Ashdown™s famous One Knob Dynamic Compressor is a great-sounding compressor that's simple to use. It delivers an even sound to help your bass fill out any mix.

Sub-Harmonic Generator

• The ABM Sub-Harmonic generator adds an octave below the notes being played bringing fullness to any bass part. The Sub level is independently controllable, letting you dial in anything from a subtle hint of deep bass to a full-on subterranean funk.

Professional Connections

• The ABM-600-DR-EVO IV head provides a wide range of connectivity option tailored to professionals. Connections include a balanced XLR DI out, Tuner out, Line out, transparent FX Loop, and a Line input for the connection of an external sampler or sound source. Output muting cuts the signal from the DI output but leaves the tuner output 'live', allowing the player to tune up in silence.
