For sale is a matched pair of vintage Premier copper timpani made in England in the 1960s. Sizes are 26” and 29”, the classic orchestral combination used in concert band and symphonic repertoire.
These feature hand-spun copper bowls, Premier’s classic mechanical pedal system, and the iconic Premier “P” London England foot pedals. Premier timpani from this era are known for their warm tone and solid build quality.
Both drums are structurally solid and complete. Pedals move smoothly and the tuning mechanism functions as intended. Heads are currently installed and playable. The copper bowls show normal cosmetic wear and patina consistent with age, but no structural damage.
These drums would be excellent for:
• school band programs
• orchestral percussionists
• studios or collectors of vintage Premier percussion
Vintage Premier copper timpani are becoming harder to find in the U.S., especially in the desirable 26”/29” orchestral pair.
