Kenwood KA-5700 Receiver in beautiful condition.

This amp was totally gone thru and serviced at my repair shop.

Cleaned all pots, and changed out any bad caps.

Unit works perfectly and is ready to go.

It is popular among vintage audio enthusiasts for its good sound quality, but often requires service, such as cleaning switches or replacing capacitors, due to its age. 

Key Features and Specifications:

• Power Output: Typically 40 Watts per channel into , with some sources citing up to 50 WPC.
• Design: Features a silver aluminum front panel, analog meters, and all-discrete components.
• Frequency Response: 20Hz to 40kHz.
• Total Harmonic Distortion: 0.04% - 0.05%.
• Inputs: Includes Phone (for turntables), Aux, and Tape Monitor. 

Common Issues and Maintenance:

• Tape Monitor Switch: A known fault is a "no sound" condition caused by a faulty Tape Monitor switch, which can be repaired by cleaning or soldering the switch pins, as shown in this YouTube video.
• Capacitor Failure: Electrolytic capacitors may fail due to age (25–40+ years), leading to noise, hum, or distortion.
• Output Transistors: Sometimes referred to as "batwing" transistors, these can fail and often need to be replaced with more modern TO-220 types with slight modifications, according to a Reddit discussion.
• Maintenance: Often requires cleaning the potentiometers (volume, tone controls) and switches with contact cleaner to fix crackling sounds.
