Vintage xylophone mallets with rattan handles

Here are 2 pair of vintage xylophone mallets. These may be 100 years old and date to the vaudeville period. Back then xylophonists played on large instruments and played at high volumes. The instruments were very substantial and performers were even known to climb up and dance on them at times.  Both pair have very hard (presumably) rubber balls. Diameters are 1 1/4" in diameter for the smaller pair, 1 3/8" in diameter for the larger pair. Appropriately they are heavier than most current xylophone mallets, which relates to the size of the bars they were used on.

My asking price reflects the rarity of these mallets. Maybe you can have a mallet-maker craft you a pair, but you can't buy them new anywhere I know of.

To avoid a frequent question I receive whenever I'm selling more than one of a type of item, both pairs are included in this listing. For now, I'm not offering them separately.
