The Genelec 8010A is an extremely compact bi-amplified active studio monitor featuring a 3" bass driver and 3/4" metal dome tweeter. Designed for professional nearfield monitoring where space is limited, the 8010A delivers accurate, detailed reproduction from a die-cast aluminium Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE). Its small footprint makes it ideal for mobile setups, edit suites, and desktop monitoring alongside laptop-based production workflows.
Acoustic Design
- Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE): Die-cast aluminium cabinet with rounded edges reduces edge diffraction for uncoloured reproduction
- Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW): Maintains consistent frequency balance across the listening area
- Iso-Pod stand: Decouples the monitor from the surface and allows tilt adjustment for optimal axis alignment
- Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS): Automatically enters low-power standby when no audio signal is detected
Room Compensation
Rear-panel DIP switches provide Bass Tilt control (0 to -6 dB in 2 dB steps) and a Desktop EQ setting that applies a -4 dB notch at 200 Hz to compensate for boundary effects when the monitor is placed directly on a desk surface.
