Item Description
The Pioneer PL-70L II, released in 1981 during the "Gold Era" of Japanese high-fidelity audio equipment, is a well-crafted direct-drive turntable that sounds as good as it looks. The PL-70L II includes the innovative "moving" coil system ", by which mechanical noise is reduced by contact-less detection of noise, such that the sensitivity of the tonearm is unaffected. There are several other technical achievements, including the“ Stable Hanging Rotor ”design, where the supporting point of by the PL-70L II is extremely solid. With this design, the center of mass of the platter and the rotor supporting point are aligned, and the reduced side pressure on the bearing increases the stability of rotation. construction and great design, pitch accuracy is phenomenal. Add to this the handsome 8.5 kg plinth, constructed from layers of solid coniferous wood and you have a turntable that is both functional and beautiful.
This turntable is in Very Good condition, with some signs of use and aging, including some scratches and scuffs (please see pictures). The enclosure and dust cover have some scratches and scuffs from age, but the exterior remains in beautiful condition. **There is a chip on the wooden base section on the front left side.**The rubber mat has hardened due to aging. Further, it has been tested by our professional technician, confirming its flawless operation. The dust cover has some scratches (Please check the pictures and the dust cover policy below). Both 33 and 45 settings work perfectly, and the platter rotation is like clockwork, as expected from products from this era.
