The Gibson Custom 1959 Les Paul Standard Murphy Lab is a painstaking recreation of one of the most coveted electrics ever produced, crafted by the Gibson Custom Shop and finished by the Murphy Lab for unmatched vintage authenticity. This 2026 example captures the look, feel, and tonal character of an original ā59 with Ultra Light Aging that subtly checks the gloss and hardware while preserving the integrity of a well-cared-for classic.
Built with a super light mahogany body and topped with AAA maple, this Les Paul delivers the resonant warmth, midrange bloom, and articulate snap that define the modelās legendary voice. The set mahogany neck is carved to the R9 V1 Carmelita profile for a substantial yet comfortable grip, paired with a 12ā radius rosewood fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and period-correct nylon reissue nut for historically accurate feel and response.
True to 1959 specifications, it features an ABR-1 Historic Reissue bridge and lightweight aluminum stop bar for optimal resonance and sustain. Aged nickel hardware, cream plastics, gold Top Hat knobs, and an amber switch tip complete the vintage-correct aesthetic, reinforcing the meticulous attention to detail that defines Gibsonās Historic program.
Electronics are anchored by a matched set of CustomBucker pickups, delivering open, dynamic PAF-style tone with exceptional clarity and harmonic richness. Hand-wired volume and tone controls with a traditional 3-way switch provide classic Les Paul versatility, while the included Certificate of Authenticity and hardshell case underscore this instrumentās status as a faithful, collector-grade tribute to a golden-era original.
