The Focusrite Clarett+ OctoPre is an eight-channel mic preamp with ADAT I/O, designed to expand the channel count of any ADAT-equipped audio interface or digital mixer.

Preamps and Insert Points

Eight Clarett+ preamps, each with the all-analogue Air circuit, provide 57dB of gain with -129dBu EIN and 118dB dynamic range. Channels 1 and 2 include front-panel high-impedance JFET instrument inputs. Switchable insert points on every channel allow inline processing through external compressors or EQs. Eight analogue outputs on a rear-panel DB-25 connector provide simultaneous analogue and digital routing.

ADAT Connectivity

Four TOSLINK connectors handle ADAT I/O: eight channels at 44.1/48kHz via a single cable, eight channels at 88.2/96kHz across two cables (channels 1-4 and 5-8), or four channels at 176.4/192kHz. Word clock I/O ensures tight synchronization in multi-device setups.
