Up for sale is a 1993 Fender Telecaster ’52 Vintage Reissue TL52-65, offered in excellent condition, 100% original, and in perfect working order.

This Made in Japan Telecaster was produced at the Fujigen factory and features the relatively uncommon Charcoal Burst gloss finish.

Often described as a “toasted” finish, this translucent Butterscotch-style gloss displays dark streaking throughout the finish, beautifully highlighting the grain of the American basswood body.

The pair of TL-Vintage single-coil pickups deliver classic Telecaster snap with a full, rounded, and punchy response—offering chewy twang at the bridge and a clear, chiming cut at the neck.

Model & Factory Notes

Both the neck and body carry TL52-60 stamps.
This is believed to be due to the continued use of TL52-600-era stamps prior to the official model name change after 1992.
The TL52-600 model appeared in Fender Japan catalogs through 1991, making this an interesting transitional detail.

The Charcoal Burst finish shows its characteristic dark streaking, most visible on the back and along the body edges (this finish is historically known to be sensitive to UV exposure).

Cosmetically, there are several small paint chips on the body—please refer to the photos for details.
The neck is straight, and while there are some minor fret dents, there is no catching or buzzing during play.
The frets have not been leveled, and ample height remains.
