The SB168-ES is a 3U stagebox using Ethersound technology. It can be connected to many Yamaha digital consoles such as the PM5D, M7CL, LS9, DM1000, and DM2000. It is equipped with 16 high-quality M7CL mic preamps and eight balanced XLR analog outputs. Audio signals are transmitted over a single CAT5e Ethernet cable over a distance of up to 100 meters. The most important advantage, apart from the very low weight of the "multicore", comes from the fact that the digital connection between the stage - on which the microphone and instrument sources are located - is almost insensitive to electromagnetic interference, which ensures a much better audio quality than with an analog multicore of the same length.
