Vintage Musser M-4 "Earl Hatch" Marimba/Vibraphone mallets. Rattan handles. Medium hard. One mallet is bent a bit from age. The yarn is fraying a bit.
Percussionist would gather at Earl Hatch's studio "Marimbas Unlimited" for reading sessions in California in the early 1980s. It was quite the thing to do. His wife sewed the little bands of contrasting color yarn on the heads.
