The Gibson J-45 Special brings the legendary "Workhorse" acoustic into a more accessible price range while retaining the craftsmanship and tone that have made it one of the most recorded acoustic guitars in history. Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, this round-shoulder dreadnought features a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, producing a warm, balanced tone with excellent dynamic range. Traditional scalloped X-bracing enhances resonance and projection, making this guitar well-suited for any musical style.

This model features a slightly shallower body depth than the J-45 Standard, providing a tighter, more controlled bass response that sits perfectly in a mix while also making it more comfortable to hold. The utile neck is attached with a hot hide glue compound dovetail joint for superior sustain and durability. A SlimTaper profile and 12" radius rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays ensure smooth playability across all 20 standard frets.

The traditional belly-up rosewood bridge features a TUSQ saddle, nut, and bridge pins, offering reliable sustain and tonal consistency. Grover Rotomatic tuners provide rock-solid tuning stability, and the guitar is finished in satin nitrocellulose lacquer, available in Vintage Sunburst or Wine Red. Equipped with an L.R. Baggs Element Bronze pickup system and an easy-access soundhole-mounted volume control, the J-45 Special is ready for the stage or studio.
