This 1918 Gibson U Harp Guitar is owned by Jason Newsted
There are quite a few deep scratches on the body of the instrument particularly on the backside. There is a small chip taken out of the headstock of the 6 string "guitar" portion of the instrument. Really cool black stinger on the back of the headstock. The binding appears to be in really great shape given its age and probability of becoming brittle over time. The action of the guitar is nice and comfortable to play. There is a slight surface crack forming on the side of the body that does not appear to cause any issue but worth noting. The pickguard shows some slight cracks. The pickguard also appears to be missing a post that would normally attach to the side of the body (currently only has one of these). Some wear and tear on the back of the neck near the first position. Although this instrument shows its age it is a great example of a rare and unique instrument. Original case included.
