This is a well-built little instrument with a rich warm sound owing to the Koa body. That tone translates well when amplified. I especially like the pop-out battery compartment that doesn't require removing the strings to change the battery, which is included. I bought this travel guitar last fall in Costa Rica to play while I was visiting family because its compact size was easy to fly home with. (It fits easily in the airliner's overhead compartment.) Now that I'm back -- and have no plans to travel soon -- I don't play it enough to justify keeping it. It is fitted out with 13-gauge strings owing to its shorter scale. I added the pick guard which was supplied by the Costa Rican guitar store where I bought it -- a Taylor dealer. The included gig bag is the best Taylor makes and is almost as sturdy and protective as a hard-shell case. It also has straps that make it work like a back pack.
