Up for grabs is ONE pair of a "new" old stock (with packaging) Regal Tip 602SG (Goodman # 2) TIMPANI MALLETS, Staccato.

NOTE: The white felt for both heads are fuzzy (one head is fuzzier than the other head). And the fuzzier head also has some unevennes - SEE pictures. Not sure why because these mallets were never used. Maybe because the white felt on the Goodman 602SG mallets are very delicate.

You probaby know this (but in case you don't know) - you can replace the heads with new heads. The head screw off. Unfortunateluy I do NOT have replacement heads.

--

Small hard inner core covered with two layers of felt.

Hard rock maple handles (shaft).

Measurements :

  • Diameter of lower bout of shaft / stick : 0.580"
  • Diameter of cream-ish white soft damper felt: 1 and 1/2"
  • Height of cream-ish white soft damper felt: 7/8"
  • Full Length: 14 and 1/2" to top edge of white hard plastic piece above white felt --- 14 and 3/4" to top edge of wood

The REGAL TIP 606SG (CP-606SG) has a small hard inner core covered with two layers of felt.

  • Excellent for light staccato playing; produces a concise sound without the objectionable "Boom".

I think that this model Regal Tip Mallet is discontinued. If so - I'm very glad that I have somehting you you are looking for (especailly in unused condition) !!

The heads are in Very Good shape. The handles are in Excellent shape - just a few tiny bumps in / on the clear finish of one of the handles. The packaging is in between Very Good and Good shape.

====

I got these mallets back in 2019 (even back then - they were in "new" old stock condition). And in the same conditon as they are in now.

NOTE: I was planning to sell them sooner- but was kind of busy. Finally getting a chance to sell them now. They were stored in a pet free / smoke free home environment.

====

Even though the mallets were not used - as I mentioned above - the white felt material for both heads are fuzzy (one head is fuzzier than the other head). And the fuzzier head also has some unevenness in the felt material -- SEE pictures. Not sure why because these mallets were never used. The only thing that I did was to try to smooth down the fuzziness and that did nto make much of a difference. Maybe the felt material is more delicate on the SG602 mallets??

Therefore - I'm pricing these Goodman #2 (602SG) Mallets lower than what I would have normally sold them for 😉

The white hard plastic pieces above the felt are fine.

The maple handles are fine. NOTE: for one of the handles - the satin poly finish has a few tiny bumps (natural imperfections from how the mallets were manufactured). You don't really see these bumps unless you examine the handle very up-close. But you can feel them when you rubs your fingers over the one handle.

The logos on the handles are fine.

The packaging (paper part and the clear bag part) that has some visible wear and a little aging.

  • The paper part of the packaging has some visible imperfections / wear -- light wear / fading on the corners, a few short creases, a few light short scratches, a few extremely small gray surface markings, and a few tiny light impressions. Also - the lower left and lower right areas have some very small holes from when the packaging was stapled The front & back bottom edges have tiny nicks. And the main areas of the paper has some visible unevenness / slightly curved (does nto lay flat).
  • The clear plastic baggie has aged / yellowed a little bit. It has several visible imperfections: some cloudiness, some light cloudy surface residue inside the bag, some discoloration, some creases, some unevenness, a few tiny nicks, some impressions, several light scratches, and a few small / tiny holes.

Below are links of the other mallets that I have listed on REVERB.

  • Please message me if you plan to purchase any of these mallets in additon to the Goodman # 2 pair.

NOTE: Not listed - I have more mallets by other companies. Hopefully I can create a list for you to view (because there are too many to list in a short duration of time).

Here are links for the mallets that I have listed:
