Listed is an Ampex 350 1/4” Half-Track Vacuum Tube Reel to Reel. It is in okay cosmetic condition with a lot of blemishes, scratches, and patina. I did not attempt to power on this unit. It is untested and being sold as-is; for parts or repair.
I purchased this from a lot of vintage studio recording equipment a few years ago. I believe, though I am not certain, that this was owned by a now defunct small recording studio in Pennsylvania called Strata Studios. All 350 equipment pictured have the same serial number: 57K369. This 350 system appears to be all original with no modifications, repairs, or replacement parts. No tubes are included in this sale, as it did not contain any when I acquired it. The heads look to be in okay shape for their age, see pictures. Note that those black cylinders with the black sludge oozing out are capacitors filled with a toxic and carcinogenic chemical called PCB and care should be taken when handling them.
I can ship this if desired… but shipping this correctly will NOT be cheap and would prefer that potential buyers pick this up in person if possible. I will not part this lot out for people who only want the electronic units.
