Rare Vintage Fender Squier II Electric Guitar, made in India in 1988-89. This is from the first batch of Squier II Strats from 1988-1992 which were first made in India and then Korea. Guitar is all original with HSS electronics and vibrant Torino Red finish with wonderful C shaped neck profile. These made in India Fender Squier IIs had some unique features, such as wide medium jumbo frets, graphite nut, 3-ply pickguard with smaller screws and HB cutout more square than uncovered PU, back plates with smaller screws, gold Squier II logo with single string tree, truss rod adjustment at heel of neck and 21 frets like a vintage or reissue Strat. ( I have another MII strat with the same features and "Made in India" stamp below Stratocaster logo, happy to send pics if desired.) Just cleaned up and dialed in with new Boomer 10s, sounds fantastic with all the stratty tones you're after and a hot DiMarzio style Humbucker in the bridge position. Previous owner appears to have clamped the neck at the base at some point. These are known for having finish cracks on the maple necks, perhaps the cracks were deep enough to warrant a glue job, as there are obvious C clamp impressions on either side of the neck base. (more pics available while neck was off for pics) there some minor chipping at body on treble side of neck joint, as pictured, and a few minor dings on back of neck. Original back plate has all original screws with some minor cracks at corner screws. Tremolo is decked, with all 6 screws tightened down and 4 springs on block (not sure if this originally had 3, my other one has 3 springs) Pickups sound great, although the 2nd position on the 5-way switch is much lower in volume (middle pickup and bridge pickup), so switch may need to be replaced to get all 5 tones on demand. First tone controls neck pickup and 2nd tone controls middle pickup, like a vintage strat. Very minor dings and scratches and in overall excellent condition, aside from the marks near the base of the neck. Very rare and cool guitar from the late 80s. Missing tremolo arm, truss rod works fine. Comes with Ibanez gig bag in good shape. Packed well and shipped quickly with experience you can trust, thanks for looking!
