About This Listing

Selling my Yamaha FG-413S dreadnought. According to information saved from the Yamaha Guitar Archive (Reverb won't let me link it, but you can find it on Google), it features a solid sitka spruce top, (laminate) nato back and sides, nato neck, and rosewood fretboard and bridge. The top, back, and sides have a gloss finish. The nut is 1 11/16", lower bout approx 16", upper bout approx 11.5", and waist approx 10.5". This is a fairly large dreadnought and I'm small, so I want to move on to a something slightly smaller and am selling this to finance that.

I received this guitar as a gift in the mid 2000s and it has followed me around ever since. Until recently, I lacked the disciplined to practice consistently and actually learn to play, so it is fairly lightly played given its age. It is well-traveled, so it has it's share of minor scratches and dents. They aren't very visible, so I would rate this "Very Good" were it not for the following - It does have hairline cracks in the back that appear mostly superficial - they mostly appear to be cracks in the finish, but not the wood. Two of them look like they *might* be hairline cracks in the wood itself, but they are so fine that they are difficult to see (they don't show up on camera) and they don't seem to affect performance at all. Given that the back is laminate, one would expect that this shouldn't cause any performance issues.

I just cleaned and polished it from top to bottom, oiled the frets, and threw on a set of new Elixir Nanoweb 80/20 light strings. It sounds pretty good - somewhat bright, but with solid bass and volume. For the money, it's is tough to beat, and it would make a great beginner's guitar, second guitar, or just a solid budget option.
