For Sale Allora Flugelhorn

Here is a really good flugel for an intermediate trumpet/cornet player who wants to try a flugel without spending thousands. I bought this new in 2018 for the same reasons and have since bought a really nice ($$$) Konstul Chicago flugel, so I don’t need this one any longer.

Here’s the specs:

  • Key: Bb
  • Bore: .459"
  • Leadpipe: Standard
  • Leadpipe Material: Yellow brass
  • Bell: 6"
  • Bell Material: Rose brass
  • Valves: Nickel piston (3)
  • 1st Valve Slide Adjustment: N/A
  • 3rd Valve Slide Adjustment: Trigger
  • Features: Vertical valve slides; Rose brass bell
  • Case: Yes
  • Mouthpiece: Yes
  • Finish: Lacquer

In many ways this is a clone of the Yamaha 631, except that this horn has a bore of 0.459 whereas the Yamaha’s is 0.430. In most other ways it is virtually identical. The 631 is currently selling new for the better part of $2700; used ones are going for around $1500-2000.

Right after I bought this I had it gone over by a professional horn tech who loosened up the slides a bit and honed the valves. It plays beautifully and is pristine – looks and plays new. I used it very little as I mostly play a cornet now. These horns are very hard to find. You won’t be disappointed. Probably won’t last long at $750.00/ 585-451-1647. .
