About This Listing

Made in the early 1900's, this antique Bb cornet is C.G. Conn's Conn-queror is in fantastic condition for its age, and sounds even better! It features a satin silver finish and a small bore (0.458" / 11.64 mm), and the valves are in excellent quality. Comes with a case, 2 mouthpieces (1 Conn Amateur Model and 1 Conn Wonder Model), 1 Straight Mute, and an Alternative Main Tuning Slide Tubing. Notice the unusual tubing arrangement with the leadpipe entering the 2nd valve, and the "skip-over" tube from the 3rd valve to the 1st valve. The valves are top spring. The patent for the instrument reads; "The object of this invention is to construct a cornet or similar instrument so that the air vibrations set in use by the performer when the instrument is in use shall be conducted through the valve system without increasing the number of turns or crooks and without changing the general direction of the wind - passage." Now on display in Jacksonville, Florida!
