Up for your consideration is this 50 year old (May of 74) and fully-refreshed, Minimoog Model D.
This Mini sounds proper wicked with its massive and coherent lows to piercing highs with the delicious saturation that only a Mini can bring. The filter sounds better than any other ladder filters I've ever had or have. This unit has no apparent trace of "quirks" or issues. This particular Mini works and sounds absolutely incredible. The control knobs and switches work without noise or issues and feel solidly crisp. The keybed is properly firm, with a nice greazy-give and smoothness; "A great action" as described by an experienced gigging keyboardist who visited me last week. I enjoy playing this keyboard more than any others.
I will ship promptly in a carefully packaged container with a handle. However, local pickup is preferred.
During the freshening this half-century-old Model D it was fitted with a new power cable, a new power lamp, all new key bushings, key alignment, and all new electrolytic capacitors thru-out, and a few misbehaving components. Freshening also included finely detailed cleaning of all switches and and rotary switches, disassembly and cleaning the pots, and the key bed was rebuilt. The cabinet was refreshed but with deliberate attention to retaining scars, nicks, and bumps left from the original Twin Cities session-musician owner. Lastly, the old Cinch-Jones S-trigger jack was replaced with a 1/4" jack that works with Gate, rather than S-trigger; so you can drive this Model D with regular CV/Gate.
Lastly the unit was completely calibrated to specifications @ 72F and has been played several times a week over the few months; each time I play...OMG..it does not disappoint. Compared with a cloninger model d it sounds better; clearer, richer, more bity and deliciously saturated, and simply more "Model D". And obviously the comparative playing experience is not even worth mentioning. I will calibrate for your specified studio temperature prior to shipping. And I will ship with the old components and the Cinch-Jones S-trigger jack.
The video that accompanies this posting features this Mini played, sequenced, and processing audio. Upon request I will share a boring functional demo of the Mini were I run thru every knob and switch. I invite any questions you may have.
