Side Show Drums uses vintage suitcases and a combination of new and used drum hardware to build one of a kind, custom suitcase drums. Each item they build is a combination of suitcase, parts, and pieces brought together to make a truly unique instrument for you to enjoy. This is "Tweedy" is built around a vintage Samsonite suitcase which measures approximately 21" wide, 16" Tall and 7.5" deep.
Due to the size of the case, you may need to shorten the shaft on your bass drum beater.
We have tried several types of beaters with this, and it tends to sound better with a flat faced cajon beater, but the possibilities are endless.
The interior has been lined with felt to help protect whatever additional hardware you store inside.
The exterior shows signs of wear and tear from a life of use and travel.
The bass pedal mount has been attached permanently to the bottom of the case and features a rubber top to help secure your pedal.
All the latches on the case still function properly but there is no key.
Two floor tom legs have been added to the sides of the suitcase, making it nice and stable.
The 2 1/2" rubber port has been added to give you the option of using a microphone for more volume or studio recording.
This is a very sharp looking little kick drum! Give it a try and let us know what you think!
