This deck is fully functional & is ready to go. The hood is a little cloudy and could use a polishing. It has a P-Mount cartridge on it. It's a Johnny no name cartridge, however, if you pop it out and pop in a nice Shure this thing is going to sound amazing. Watch video on YouTube. That is not this unit, however it is the same unit and gives you an idea of what quality turntable your purchasing.
