2x Neumann/Gefell M582/M62 (KM54 like)
Our users rate Reverb
Up for sale is a stereo set of
2x Neumann/Gefell M582 tube microphones +
2x Neumann/Gefell M62 small diaphragm cardioid capsules, all in perfect working condition.
The M582/M62 is most often compared to the Neumann KM54. If you are interested in this set, you know what you get.
One M62 capsule (sn 4618) was reskinned by specialist Siegfried Thiersch in 2023 (Peter Drefahl only had one nickel membrane left at his shop at the time). The other M62 (sn 7002) was changed by mic guru Peter Drefahl in 2023 who also serviced and modded both mics (Andreas Grosser mod) to further stabilise the tube stages.
The set comes with a state-of-the-art 2-channel power supply Schaal N563 made by Leo Schaal in 2022. The PSU offers a power switch with LED directly besides (red indicating heating phase, green indicating working phase), a switch between ground/soft ground/ground lift selectable for each channel seperately, works with 115V or 230V (switchable on the back of the unit) and offers XLR out for each channel. The fuse is accessible directly under the power connector.
Also included are 2 cables with stable metal connectors (specially made for Leo Schaal), all black, instead of the original cream coloured GDR plastic connectors & cables, connecting the microphones to the PSU via 10 meters of Sommer Cable SC-Octave Tube each.
The PSU and cables can also be used for 2x Neumann Gefell CMV563 with M7, for example, (CMV563 and/or M7 are NOT included in this sale, of course).
Though it has been thoroughly tested I cannot guarantee the whole set will work everywhere on this planet. It does sound absolutely fantastic right here, right now in Germany (tested today in my home studio and recorded several productions last year with this set).
The cosmetic condition of everything sold is as shown in the pictures.
If wanted I can include a copy of the invoices of Leo Schaal, Peter Drefahl and Siegfried Thiersch.
