Vintage Correct Parts is proud to offer, for your consideration,
A fantastic

Vintage 1969 Gibson L-5CESN (in super rare "two tone" blonde finish with walnut stained sides and back!

We are incredibly proud to bring this very rare L-5 to market - A remarkable find, this spectacular L-5CES is factory finished with a natural blonde soundboard and walnut stained curly maple back and sides, the rarest combination ever offered on this legendary model. Gibson records show only 55 L-5CESN guitars were shipped this model year, and only a tiny fraction of them appear to have been produced with this unique 'two-tone' finish.

The Blonde Archtops from this often got the premium picks of woods at Gibson and this L-5 is no exception. The sides and the neck are some of the most intensely flamed maple we've ever encounered on a vintage Gibson. The back is a stunning bubbly and burly cut of maple that has figure "popping" from every angle. This example also has a factory headstock "stinger" - adding even more cool to the cool!

This L-5 is 100% stock - save the original pickguard and pickup covers (the original pickguard is included) - the pickguard "off-gassed" as old celluloid is prone to do. It oxidized the pickup covers to a point of unusual corrosion. New gold covers have been installed.

Product Overview
The Gibson L-5 CES is the electric cutaway version of the iconic L-5 acoustic archtop. In the first years of production, it featured P-90 pickups and later Alnico V pickups until humbuckers debuted in 1957, which is still uses. Unlike most other Gibson guitars, it has a 25.5 inch scale. It featured a sharp cutaway between 1960 - 1969, with a rounded cutaway for all other years.

This model is also produced in limited numbers in a natural finish, which creates slightly higher value.
