Hondo Longhorn Doubleneck 12/6 - 1980s - Copperburst

Up for sale we have a 1980's Honda Longhorn Doubleneck with 12/6-string necks in original Copperburst finish with original hardshell case. Made in Japan. The guitar is in excellent used condition overall, showing some cosmetic wear with a fair amount of small dings and dents around the body (mostly allocated to the edges) from normal use over the years. A well-playing and sounding example of this rare instrument. The guitar features a solid body with deep long horn cutaways, one 12-string neck and one 6-string neck, each side has a scale length of 25 1/2", the instrument features all three of it's original humbucking pickups with a pair on the 12-string side and one on the 6-string side in the bridge position, 2 output jacks, one engages both the 12-string and 6-string pickups and the other engages only the 12-string pickups, 2 volume and 2 tone controls, two 3-way pickup selector switches, three on/off switches for coil-split, treble cut and volume/gain boost (boost for 6-string side only). Both sides feature stop tailpiece bridges with adjustable saddles, each neck features a 24-fret Rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlaid fret markers and a brass nut. The 12-string neck features a "C" shape profile measuring .860" deep at the first fret and .980" deep at the twelfth fret, the 6-string neck has a very similar "C" shape profile measuring .870" deep at the first fret and .980" deep at the twelfth fret. The nut width on the 12-string neck measures 1 11/16" and 1 5/8" on the 6-string neck. Both necks are straight and play great up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or buzzing. The truss rods are accessible at the headstock, they turn smoothly in both directions and function as they should,. The instrument weighs in at 12 lbs. 1 oz.
