I stated this line with a set of abused 13" hats. I added the 20" ride and the 18" crash. Later I wanted another crash and tried a 16" but that sounded really weak and didn't fit with the 18 at all. I got a K Session 18" instead, but that is not getting much use either (I have too many cymbals). I keep with my 17" EAK dark crash, which fits well. I suspect larger diameters (with the larger bell) would also sound great and fit better with the 18, but the new paper-thin K's have caught my eye and I'm keen to try them out. That great edge wobble "dancing fairies" is there- I totally get it and seek it out!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I've owned A Custom, A, and K crashes throughout the 20 years I've been drumming. I recently purchased an 18" K Custom Dark Crash and I am blown away with how beautiful it sounds. Without question my favorite crash and probably the best sounding crash I've ever heard.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I had been using A custom crashes for years; I decided to give these recently and fell in love. To me they are bright enough to cut through heavy guitars without sounding brittle or zingy. The darkness to these cymbals is most noticeable in their sustain or when you hit them a little softer. The harder you hit the brighter they sound. Thy dryness of these cymbals helps them from getting too washy. I currently have an 18" and a 19" and am planning on getting a 20"
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
