Harmony Lap Steel late 40s early 50s - brown/amber

Need a Lap Steel and prefer a vintage one at a decent price?.. well here ya go!

Late 40s-50s Harmony Made in USA Lap Steel in very good playing condition and it 99.98% original . it also comes with the original alligator style chipboard case.

The volume and tone knobs have been changed to what appears to be vintage radio knobs of different types. that doesn't hurt it, they just aren't the original knobs is all.

The electronics has been gone over very carefully and brought back to perfect working order with only some good cleaning and reflowing some old solder joints.

the only other thing I could point to, might be the output cable. it "may" have been changed at some point. but its high quality and done a very long time ago.

the pickup is clean sounding and has a very full tone. I checked the original schematic and the tone control operates backwards of what we are used to today, but it IS correct for this instrument.

The case isn't in great condition. its serviceable. it could use the top hinge fixed or replaced. I'll leave that to your judgement.

the entire instrument has been cleaned, disinfected and generally gone over with a fine tooth comb.

it has a brand new set of Curt Magan 16-56 ga strings installed and tuned to Open DADGBE.

Someone thoroughly enjoyed this instrument and played it a great deal. signs of player wear are to be found all over it. including some "personalization" on the fretboard and back of headstock.

This instrument is made from 3 pieces of wood which can see in one of the photos of the back. and it looks like its either maple or walnut.. hard to tell for sure. it does have a few smaller knots in the wood, which you can see in the grain lines and I photo-ed them closely

There is one near the "B" tuner key. its nothing to worry about.. no cracks or anything, just a knot.

its just the material they used at the time. It is noteworthy as some believe that "anomalies" in the wood can produce unique and enjoyable tones, and this Lap Steel firmly falls into that category. it has a very solid tone with a strong bass and very smooth trebles.

The tuners have been freshly cleaned, oiled and adjusted so that they work well and turn smoothly. the tuner buttons ARE original, and are not shriveled. they are very serviceable as is.

It also comes with an original Stevens Slide bar and the absolutely required purple "Crown Royal" bag to keep your accessories in
