INTRODUCTION: This 21014 Epiphone Les Paul Custom PRO has had a couple of really superior upgrades which have definitely improved the performance level. A total of THREE (3) upgrades were done on this guitar:

1) PICKUP UPGRADE: First, the standard pickups were replaced with Seymour Duncan pickups:

NECK PICKUP: Duncan APH1 Alnico Pro II Neck Pickup
BRIDGE PICKUP: Duncan Pearly Gates Bridge Pickup

(Sorry, we don't have the original pickups.)

2) ELECTRONIC UPGRADES: Take a look at the close-up photos. The pickup switch and all of the volume and tone controls were replaced with very high quality components. (I'm not sure if the output jack was replaced, but it works perfectly.)

The neck pickup volume was replaced with a Seymour Duncan Liberator volume pot, which allows fast and easy pickup swapping - no soldering needed! All other pots are high quality Emerson pots which are far superior to CTS because of their tighter tolerance ratings. The tone capacitors are high-quality "bumblebee" type - notice the different values for each pickup. The pickup switch was replaced with a pre-wired Switchcraft style.

PLEASE NOTE: The standard Epiphone Les Paul Custom PRO allows you to "coil split" the pickups with push/pull pots. Please be advised that although these Duncan pickups CAN be wired for coil splitting, this guitar no longer has the necessary push/pull pots and therefore operates as a Les Paul with standard, non-splitting pickups. It would be a simple procedure to switch the tone pots with push/pull style pots and once again have the coil split capability. Frankly, a lot of players never use a Les Paul with coil split pickups, so this may or may not be important to you.

3) HARDWARE UPGRADE: The standard gold Grover tuners have been replaced with gold Grover locking tuners (see close-up photo).

WEIGHT: Approximately 8.7 pounds.

CONDITION: Guitar looks mint at first glance. EXCELLENT overall condition. There is some slight visible wear to the gold plating on the bass side of the bridge and on one of the tailpiece screws (see close-up photo). The gold plating on the Duncan pickups looks great except for the very small area on the rear corner of the bridge pickup on the bass side (see close-up photo once again). ALL other gold parts look mint. Frets look FANTASTIC - you can barely tell that this guitar was ever played. I was able to find one *TINY* ding on the guitar near the tone knobs (see close-up photo). Back has NO buckle rash at all - just a couple of tiny marks that I couldn't get to show up in any photo. That is all I could find on this guitar. It is in truly amazing condition.

ACCESSORIES: Includes non-original arch-top Les Paul style hard case.
