1979 MXR M101 Phase 90 Pedal
This pedal is in very good condition. Cosmetically, it is unusually clean with very few nicks or scratches on the front, back or sides.
As per the potentiometer, the CTS code (137) is followed by the date code (7940). This is congruent with the script logo etched in the back plate, which along with the block logo on the front, suggests that this was one of those "transition units" (in between script and block) from the late 70s.
The pedal sounds fantastic! No noise or scratchiness issues. To my ears, in comparison to modern phasers, the sound is warmer and spongier (if that makes any sense).
