The EDB400 features an ergonomic shaped double-cutaway basswood body with curved back and scooped front bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position markers, side dots, a graphite nut and a black headstock.
This is a 2006 model, manufactured at the end of 2005. The Ergodyne bodies were originally made of a synthetic material called Luthite. Beginning with the 2006 models, advancements in manufacturing capabilities allowed Ibanez to begin making the bodies out of basswood.
The shape is very comfortable and meant to be especially accessible to slap but is great even if that's not your style. The Phat EQ knob allows quick and simple tone adjustments and works like a binary switch between a smooth tone and a boosted, gritty one.
The bass is in excellent condition and only two minor blemishes which were difficult to even photograph. There are some surface scratches on the body near the neck and a little bit of imperfection on the rounded part of the body.
Overall, an awesome bass with great versatility and a similar feel to the SR Soundgear line.
