2004 National "Replicon" Style 0 Resonator with original National hardshell case.
The Replicon line is sort of National's version of a "Relic" model. They are factory-aged and give the look and feel of a vintage pre-war resonator, except they have much more modern-day structural benefits. For one, they have a trussrod!
This one is from 2004 (pretty early example). It has the Hawaiian etched scenes on the front and back. There's the requisite aging and relic effect. One unique thing about this example... on the bass side, in the etched band that goes around the side of the body... there is another personalized etching that reads "DARK ROSE TATTOOS". It was obviously put on professionally. It is pretty cool. The guitar was recently setup and inspected at the National Factory in San Luis Obispo, California.
It's a 12-fret model and reminiscent of the early-30s models. It's LOUD, crisp and sustains very well!
I attached a YouTube video link with a little impromptu Open G tuning slide and singer-style playing. You can play this one EASILY. This offers easy fingerstyle and slide options. I really don't mind keeping this guitar. It's a really cool piece and has a cool vibe to it. Not to mention, it sounds and plays GREAT!
