About This Listing

Selmer Super Action 80 Series II Tenor

Bought new in 2006

Serial number 687065

$5999 OBO

This is a beautiful one owner Selmer that has been played very little. The owner played it briefly, over a two year period 2006-2008, and concluded that she preferred the alto sax. This “top of the line” horn has been sitting in in the case without being played for the last 15 years and is waiting to be liberated and blown.

It comes with the original case, neck, and the Selmer C80 C* mouthpiece.

This tenor plays very easily, great action and I effortlessly played it up to the 4th G, as well as hitting the subtones nicely. The action is great, smooth, and responsive, pads original, and no finger deterioration on the keys. The case is in fine shape and has the case cover and locking keys. There is a Rico neck strap, cork grease, cleaning swabs.

This horn has been out west in the dry air, so there are no smells nor corrosion.

Cosmetically.

There are a couple of cosmetic issues. This sax was knock off the stand and the tip of the bell was compromised and repaired. See Bell Photo.

There is also a ¼ inch ding by the left thumb key, see photo that has the magnifying circle.

There are also two other very tiny barely visible dings that you have to search hard to find.

These issues do not interfere with the playing or sound of this horn and are very minimal. Otherwise, the horn is like new.

Consider this beautiful horn to add to your collection.
