Rare vintage Top of the Line HH Scott Type 280 Mono Tube amplifier, original, good condition, does work but will need restoration as it has never been serviced. It has the incomparable vintage Scott design, craftsmanship, attention to detail, parts quality, point to point wiring, fit, finish, beauty and potential that only vintage USA tube amps can offer. It has all vintage tubes except for 4 fresh JJ EL34L power tubes. It was brought up on a variac to about 90 volts, had a noticeable 60Hz hum and it was turned off. This is typical of the amp needing its original power supply caps replaced. Vintage tube amps need to have the typical and necessary parts replacements for proper performance, reliability and sound quality. The transformers are good and all the circuitry appears original. It has very large and heavy transformers. It looks like the transformers were pulled slightly away from the chassis during its long life. This does not affect cosmetics, performance or reliability. This was HH Scotts top of the line amplifier, built and designed when they were at the top of their game. It has 4 EL34s, 3 12ax7s, 2 5U4s, and 1 6BX7, powerful 65 Watt RMS tube mono amp. It has some small nicks, dings and scuffs, some mismatched screws. It has always been in non smoking climate controlled environment. It has lots and lots of potential. There had a limited production run, very rare. The shipping cost includes safe packing, insurance, prompt shipping and tracking number. Buy with confidence, see my feedback.
